Hi,

This is a great plugin if I just can get it to work on my online site and not just on my offline site...:(
The search part works and the results are listed fine in Joomla.
When I follow the links to PhpGedView it just shows the main page and not the page from the search result.
Looking at the url I see the problem:
http://..../component/phpgedview/?pid=I2738&ged=
The gedcom file is not part of the url!
If I manualy enter the gedcom file name at the end, it works fine.
So how can I get the plugin to pick up the gedcom file for my online site?

Regards

Jastro

Hi Jastro,
can you tell me what is exactly in the search result ?
Example : when i search on my website on the name Broos i get this.

1. Broos, Ad
(phpGedview / Broos)
Geboren 0 1949, Overleden Onbekend

What i want to know, what do you have after (phpgedview / ....... )

Can you give the content of the ./index/gedcoms.php

Hi,

Thks for your quick respons!

From the search results I now see that i'm missing the gedcom listing..
(phpGedview / )
On my offline site this is listed as (phpGedview / slekten)

And for the gedcoms.php file, here is whats in it:
<?php
//--START GEDCOM CONFIGURATIONS
$GEDCOMS = array();
$gedarray = array();
$gedarray["gedcom"] = "slekten.ged";
$gedarray["config"] = "${INDEX_DIRECTORY}slekten.ged_conf.php";
$gedarray["privacy"] = "${INDEX_DIRECTORY}slekten.ged_priv.php";
$gedarray["title"] = "Stromsnes Genealogy";
$gedarray["path"] = "${INDEX_DIRECTORY}slekten.ged";
$gedarray["pgv_ver"] = "4.2.1";
$gedarray["imported"] = true;
$gedarray["id"] = "2";
$gedarray["commonsurnames"] = "BADEN, BERE, BERG, BLOCH, BLOCK, BONIN, BORCKE, BRAND, BRAUNSCHWEIG, BREMER, BRUNCHORST, BRÜGGER, BUGGE, BULGRIN, CALSOW, CAPELLEN, CAPPEL, CAPPELMANN, CAPPELN, CHÜDEN, DAMITZ, DEWITZ, DREIER, DREYER, DAAE, ELSWIJCK, GLASENAPP, GRUBBE, HALLBURG, HANSEN, HARBOE, HEGELUND, HEGGELUND, HELLAND, HILDEBRAND, HODNE, HODNEKVAM, HOFNAGEL, HOLSTEIN, HORN, HOYA, HUFNAGEL, IKEN, JØRGENSEN, KALSOW, KAMEKE, KIIL, KLEIST, KUNDENREICH, LENGERKEN, LETH, LORCH, MANTEUFFEL, MEINCKE, MENCH, MENCHE, MENCHEN, MENCK, MENCKE, MENCKEN, MENG, MENGE, MENGES, MENGIN, MENK, MENKE, MENKEN, MEYER, MÜLLER, MÖHLEN, NN, OLDE, OSTEN, PEDERSEN, RANGE, RANGONI, RIKE, ROTHENSTEIN, RUE, SANDE, SCHLIEBEN, SCHLIEFF, SCHLIEFFEN, SCHWEDER, SELLNER, SOLGAARD, TEISTE, TESMAR, TESMER, TESSMER, TILEMANN, TUCHSEN, TYCHSEN, VAHL, ZELLNER, ";
$GEDCOMS["slekten.ged"] = $gedarray;

$DEFAULT_GEDCOM = "slekten.ged";

?>

I'm using all the latest versions:
1.4.3 com_phpgedview
4.2.1 phpgedview
2.1 plugin

Hope this gives you needed info to help me.

Hi Jastro,
thanks for the information.
Can you also let me know (screendump)how the plugins config looks like.
I donn't need to know the user and password.

And i see : $gedarray["id"] = "2";
in the gedcoms.php

Can you check through phpmyadmin in the table pgv_individuals what it says in field "i_file" ?

Does com_phpgedview works correctly ?

Hi again,

Here you have the info you requested.
screendump of how the plugin config looks like.

Also a screendump of how i_file looks like in pgv_individuals

I was also wondering about the $gedarray["id"] = "2"
PhpGedView had two gedcom's before, but only one now.
Tried to change this value to "1", but did'nt help much, so i changed it back.

The PhpGedView seems to be working fine besides this problem.

thanks again for trying to help me out.

Jastro

Sorry, i didn't check the screendump files.. :blue:

Plugin parameters:
Search Limit:
Database prefix: pgv
database name:
Hotsname: localhost
Path to index: index/

When browsing the pgv_individuals table i only see the value "2" in the i_file field.

Hi Jastro,
is this also on your other system ?

I believe the problem is in this 2. It should be 1 as it should be in the file gedcoms.php
But do not change. I wil try to find an other solution.

thks for the test file.
Tried it, but did not help much.. :-(

When I tried a search it gave first the output as listed in the attatched file, then the search field followed by the same search results as before..

1. Hodne,
(phpGedview / )
Born 0 1776, Died 0 1830

Its just a test, so maybe the results will tell you something..?

Hi Jan,
Yes it tells me more.
The problem is: in this phpgedview this is not the first gedcom installed am i correct ? Did you install a gedcom some earlier? Because this one has id 2 and the search engine is searching on a gedcom with id 1.

I think i can rebuild the search plugin, but not this week, I am going on a small vacation. I'll be back next week wednesday.

I you need it working real soon. I advise you to delete all gedcom files and import a new one. Or wait for 2 weeks.

Yes I think you are on to something. o.O
You are right in assuming there where more than one gedcom file, but now there is only one left. The first one is probably not there anymore.

Thank you for beeing so quick in fault finding this issue.
The site in question is not fully open yet, so I don't mind waiting a litle extra for you to release an new update that will fix this issue.

Hope you have a nice vacation and I'll be looking forward for the update when you come back are ready to release it. :-)

Regards

Hi Jan,
So the new version works nice.
For other users i will explain what happened.
If you import a gedcom file in a freshly installed phpgdview it gets id 1 in the index/gedcoms.php
If you install another gedcom this one gets id 2 in the index/gedcoms.php
Suppose you delete the first one. the second one doesnot get id 1 but remains to be id 2.
And thats where the old search engine got it wrong.
In the new version this is corrected.
Thanks to Jastro.

You can download the new version here.
